Introducing Our New Office Space In Cardiff

The Cardiff team has expanded extremely rapidly, in part due to assistance and support from the Welsh Government, and we’ve grown from a small handful of people to nearly 50 people in a little over two years. Our previous Cardiff office was becoming overcrowded and a bit ‘tired’ in terms of décor. In addition, the teams were split over two different floors and we suffered from a lack of meeting rooms due to our rapid growth in numbers.

At the beginning of April our Cardiff, UK team moved to a new, bigger and better office location not far from Cardiff’s iconic Millennium Stadium.

We ended up choosing Carlyle House on Cathedral Road in the Riverside area of Cardiff as our new home. Apart from being just a few minutes walk from the city centre, Cathedral Road also provides a nice mix of imposing Victorian villas, modern office buildings, and a large park running along the back. Oh, and it also has a pub and hotel across the street – how convenient!

One of the main things we wanted to achieve with the office move was to create a world-class environment for our team. We also wanted to put our own touch on the office and bring some branding elements into the space. So we proceeded to rip out the old blue carpet tiles and embarked on a three-month refit project throughout the whole office.

Neil Hinton, one of our Creative Designers in the Cardiff Office led the design effort with Chris Liassides, our UK GM, and Laura Owen, our Office Manager, taking key roles in getting the complete refit done in just 3 short months.

At the end of March it was finally time to say farewell to our old office and make the move. With the help of some of staff members, armed with screwdrivers and a love of building flat pack furniture, we got everything moved in and all the office furniture built in record time, despite the elevator breaking down on moving day (and us on the top floor!).

We’re extremely happy with the end result.  The wood flooring and glass partitions, in particular, have transformed the space and created a modern and bright interior. We even applied a Sorenson Media look and feel through the application of our corporate purple and Spark orange to the glass partitions.
