Sorenson Media Sponsors New Insights Track at TV of Tomorrow Show

We are excited to announce that we have teamed up with Frank N. Magid Associates, a leading consulting firm to the media industry, as diamond sponsors of a new track at the TV of Tomorrow (TVOT) show called the Insights Track. The Insights Track will add a new layer to the show that is focused on exactly what the name of the track declares – insights. The track has been created to provide attendees with actionable insights that will help them continue to evolve and improve the TV & Media industry. Magid and Sorenson Media worked together earlier this year on a market research project surrounding consumer reactions to Smart Broadcast capabilities such as interactive and personalized TV overlays and key findings will be presented at the show. The 2015 TV of Tomorrow show will be held June 23-24 at the Golden Gate Club in San Francisco, CA. TVOT has served as an annual gathering place for professionals working in the interactive and multiplatform television community since 2004.

Sorenson Media has historically been known for video encoding and streaming technology. In December 2014 we announced the launch of SPARK™, our line of Smart Broadcast solutions. Through the advanced capabilities made available to local broadcasters through SPARK, local broadcasters now have the tools that enable them to participate in the conversation about the future of TV. We are thrilled to play a major role in the event and serve as an advocate for the local broadcast industry. Often at industry events and conferences, such as the TV of Tomorrow, the conversation is focused heavily on networks, MVPDs, and OTT/streaming. We look forward to bringing a new layer to the conversation that has been previously neglected – local broadcast.

Matt Timothy, our Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), will be presenting during the Connected Television session within the Insights Track on the topic of Smart Broadcast and the emerging opportunity within local broadcast. Smart Broadcast, a term we have coined to represent the future of TV, embodies the combination of the best of digital including localization, personalization, and relevance, and the unparalleled scale and impact of broadcast television. Matt will also sit on the Connected TV panel during the Insights Track, alongside other industry experts, to discuss how internet-connected TVs are influencing the future of the industry. Sorenson Media’s CEO, Marcus Liassides, will be sitting on TV of Tomorrow’s flagship technology panel set to discuss how technology innovation will shape the future of TV.

The Insights Track, taking place throughout the day on Tuesday June 23, will include panel sessions with participation from many of the most influential and knowledgeable experts in the TV & Media industry. Curated and moderated by Magid, the Insights Track has been added to the TV of Tomorrow line-up for the first time with the primary goal of fleshing out distinct and actionable insights within each of the session topics.
