Jim Sorenson is the founder and chairman of Sorenson Media.
Jim is a renowned entrepreneur, business leader, and social investor and has built multiple highly successful companies in industries ranging from technology and life sciences to real estate and private equity investment. Jim is the founder and former CEO of Sorenson Media and Sorenson Communications, with the latter sold in one of the most lucrative private equity deals in Utah history.
As President & CEO, Marcus focuses his efforts on customers, partners, products, and directing the overall vision of the company.
Marcus was appointed President and CEO in 2013, prompting Sorenson Media’s entrance into advanced TV & analytics and the development of the Sorenson Spark platform. Marcus has served as an executive in the digital video and television advertising industries for 15 years. Marcus founded Inuk Networks, which was acquired by Move Networks in 2009. Marcus was later appointed CEO of Move Networks, which provided online video solutions to clients like ESPN, ABC, Comcast, and Fox. Marcus most recently served as President & CEO of Xumo, a company focused on delivering video advertising solutions through internet-connected TVs.
Pat is responsible for all Sorenson Media operations.
For the past twelve years, Pat has been the President & CEO of Sorenson Communications, the leading communications provider for the deaf. Pat managed and grew the company from a startup to 5,500 employees and a multi-billion-dollar valuation with 80% market share. While managing Sorenson Communications, Pat also started and was the President and CEO for CaptionCall. CaptionCall quickly became the leading communications provider for the hard of hearing employing 4,000 people.
As Chief Revenue Officer, Pat is responsible for sales and revenue generation for all Sorenson products.
Pat has spent the better part of the past three decades trying to make television advertising a better experience for advertisers and content providers. As the former EVP of Delivery Agent, Pat oversaw all advanced and traditional ad sales functions of the commerce-enabled, multi-screen platform. Pat was the co-founder of The Band, an advertising sales agency and platform specializing in the development, evangelization, and sales of advanced television advertising and traditional unwired networks.
Additional previous positions include: President of Turner Media Group; VP/GM of Comcast Spotlight; VP/GM of AT&T Media Services; VP/GM of TCI.
As CFO, Greg is responsible for strategic guidance and the implementation of best practices related the financial goals of the organization.
Greg has over 15 years of financial and operational leadership experience. Prior to Sorenson Media, Greg served as CFO and COO at Pluralsight where he played an integral role in sustained triple digit growth, oversaw eight acquisitions totaling nearly $200 million in combined transactional value and raised nearly $300 million in capital. Greg was awarded CXO of the year in 2014 from Utah Business Magazine. Greg has also served as CFO of PermaPlate and as SVP in the Portfolio Group of Huntsman Gay Global Capital.
As CMO, Tom is responsible for all marketing activities including brand development, corporate communications, customer acquisition, digital, and content marketing.
Tom is a seasoned marketing leader and will play an important role as Sorenson Media continues to grow globally. Recently, Tom served as Senior Vice President of Marketing at Sprint. Tom also served as Chief Marketing Officer for Dobson Communications, which was later acquired by AT&T. Prior to that, Tom ran marketing for the western US at Verizon Wireless.
Steve’s role as EVP of Product & Engineering includes responsibility for product research, development, strategy and execution.
An experienced product management executive, Steve brings a highly technical background in software and product development plus extensive commercial, business and customer support experience. Steve’s experience includes holding the position of Head of Products (IPTV Division) at Pace Micro Technology. Steve later founded XiO Digital, an ODM of connected music server products, and served as the company’s CTO for nearly 7 years. Prior to Sorenson Media, Steve served as VP of Product Management at Xumo, where he was responsible for driving the delivery of innovative new advertising formats for Smart TVs.
As EVP of Operations, Guy oversees all IT and Operations functions within the organization.
Guy has extensive experience directing large, technically advanced broadcast and entertainment platforms. Prior to Sorenson Media, Guy was an SVP at Ericsson, where he was responsible for their global TV&Media consulting and systems integration practice. Guy also held the SVP/Principal Consultant position at National TeleConsultants, where he led its media and business technology practice. Guy’s previous experience also includes Move Networks, AT&T, DIRECTV, and News Corporation.
